Cancellation Policy
At LJ Insurance Agency Inc., we are committed to providing our clients with clarity and transparency in all aspects of their insurance policies. By initiating or making changes to your insurance policy with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions regarding policy management and cancellations. These policies are designed to align with underwriting standards and state regulations, ensuring consistency and fairness.

I understand and agree that no changes can be made to the policy for the next 60 days, including but not limited to adding or removing drivers or vehicles. This 60-day rule is particularly applicable to New York State Plan policies, especially those that are financed. For these policies, the assigned carrier will process the refund to the financing company (e.g., Strand), and the financed company will then issue and mail the refund check to the policyholder. LJ Insurance Agency Inc. does not have any control over the cancellation or refund process, as it is managed exclusively by the carrier and the financed company.

For auto policies, cancellations may occur due to several reasons, such as non-payment of premiums, significant underwriting risks identified during inspections, or failure to meet policy conditions. Policyholders are strongly encouraged to address these issues promptly to avoid disruptions in coverage. Refunds for canceled auto policies will follow standard timelines and may take up to 90 days to process, depending on the carrier and financing company’s procedures.

Homeowners policies are also subject to cancellation under certain conditions, including non-payment of premiums, substantial risks discovered during inspections (e.g., property damage, safety hazards), or a failure to comply with policy requirements. As with auto policies, addressing any concerns or conditions promptly is essential to maintain continuous coverage. Refunds for canceled homeowners policies will also adhere to regulatory guidelines, with processing times of up to 90 days.

The broker fee charged by LJ Insurance Agency Inc. is non-refundable. This fee covers the administrative work and expertise involved in securing your policy. Clients are encouraged to review all fees and terms carefully before proceeding with their coverage.

For DMV services, LJ Insurance Agency Inc.’s service fees are non-refundable. Car registration fees may vary from one client to another due to factors such as the type and weight of the vehicle, whether it is a new registration or renewal, and any outstanding fees or penalties associated with the client’s vehicle record. Additionally, differences in local sales tax rates and state-specific requirements can further influence the final cost. Clients should be prepared for these variations and are encouraged to contact our office with any questions regarding their specific registration needs.
